Michigan History Magazine Features Jennifer's Photos of Little Stone Church
Share

I’m thrilled to share that my photographs of the historic stained glass windows of Little Stone Church on Mackinac Island are featured in the January/February 2025 edition of Michigan History Magazine. The article, "Windows of Colorful Light: Mackinac Island's Little Stone Church," by Phil Porter delves into the rich history of the Little Stone Church, a place that holds a deep connection to the heart of Mackinac Island, through the lens of its stained glass windows.
Phil is the 2024 Historical Society of Michigan History Hero Award (yay, Phil!) and author of Blest Be the Tie That Binds, a book about Little Stone Church that we released in 2024. I captured the photographs accompanying the article during the creation of the coffee table book. Each image showcases the intricate artistry and timeless beauty of the windows, which have in spired visitors and worshipers for generations.
It’s an honor to see this work celebrated in such a respected publication and to contribute to preserving the stories of this iconic Mackinac Island landmark. Established in 1828, the Historical Society of Michigan (HSM) is our state's oldest cultural organization and helps connect us to Michigan’s past. Visit their website at www.hsmichigan.org for more interesting facts.
Copies of Blest Be the Tie that Binds are available on our website here or in our gallery, Main Street Art, in Milford, Mich.
Thank you for supporting my journey of capturing and sharing Mackinac Island’s unique beauty and history.
Warm wishes,
Jennifer
